COLLEGE OF THE CANYONS MAKER SPACE

I Managed and worked on a competition, which received first place, to create a Maker Space for College of the Canyons.  My job consisted of managing groups of student teams, relaying information back and forth between them and faculties, and scheduling deadlines.

As a result the space was built a few months later and is currently in constant use. The concept was simply, to create a space for students to fabricate, design, and engineer as a group with minimal construction needed. We chose an appropriate space near the school cafeteria, three storage rooms not in use, to remodel. Everything from tools, machinery, desks, chairs, colors, and lighting were picked by the students. The project ended up being quick and affordable but most importantly a new hub for students to really get into their craft.
